Hi Stoyan,

actually Steve Souders recently posted about the "new" technique of loading javascript as a string as he quotes Charles Jolley. It's seems quite interesting and can be found on http://www.stevesouders.com/blog/2009/12/07/downloading-javascript-as-strings/.
I think that can be really helpful when trying to defer JS loading.

Something people keep forgetting, is that some badly written included script could use a document.write and the asynchronous inclusion is disaster prone - I had to deal with this issue recently and behaviors could be "scary" !
What developers do not get is that to place an iframe or whatever content in the middle of the page we can still use an asynchronous loader adding a callback able to replaceChild putting whatever content is in the same script place AND eventually parse script tags included evaluating, if necessary, their content so that document.write can nicely disappear from Web Pages - Google, I am talking with you too
